In his more than ten years of working experience, he has gained a diverse background in marketing, public relations, development, and technology. Bill has held strategic roles in academic, business, non-profit, and political environments. He is currently employed at East Carolina University as a Communications and Development Officer.

He is committed to increasing the strength of Winterville and providing for its citizens and their families. Bill is a strong advocate of the future opportunities our town has in the upcoming years. Winterville is on the brink of becoming one of the fastest growing towns in North Carolina and our opportunity is here and now. Bill firmly believes that this vacant Alderman seat provides him the chance to make a significant difference and help build a stronger town for all of us.

His campaign is built around precisely that … uniting our community for a better tomorrow. It is this sense of community and togetherness that will propel us into our future.

Bill has always had a sincere passion for public service and has worked with a number of non-profit organizations fighting for causes dear his heart. He has taken great pride in these endeavors and now looks forward to working with the Town of Winterville on a more personal level and improving its operating structure. He believes our citizens deserve leadership that will look after their best interest, keep them involved and secure, and listen to their concerns.

During his early career achievements and now to his current work at ECU and marriage, Bill has always brought the same thing to each part of life: dedication. This constant drive to succeed and an unrelenting will to see that his best effort is put forth at all times is something he feels is greatly admired by coworkers, friends, and family. He also feels strongly about making sure he the right thing and not just what is right for the moment.

It is on that philosophy that he has built his knowledge, personal, and professional well-being—bringing a sense of pride, quality, and determination to everything he sets his mind to. Developing and sustaining good working and collaborative relationships is also something of great importance to Bill. He places great emphasis on trust and the need for honesty.

He and his wife, Mary-Margaret, whom he has known since third grade, make Winterville their home due to its quaint charm and small-town distinction. They have been married for two years. A number of family members and friends, which has always been a strong cornerstone of his life, also call Winterville home, most notably his sister, brother-in-law, and their children. A majority of his remaining family lives in the Greenville area.

In his spare time he enjoys golf, fishing, tennis, the beach, traveling, photography, animals, yard work, family, and friends. A good sense of humor is also never far away.
